The APC Secretariat is an advocate for speaking with one voice on behalf of First Nations communities. Through research and analysis, we develop and table policy alternatives for matters affecting First Nations communities in Atlantic Canada, Quebec, and Maine, USA.
APC Secretariat's strategic areas of focus for change are:

Our key areas of focus for social reform include:
- Building sustainable economic structures
- Continuing to expand fisheries and natural resource access and opportunities
- Implementing programs for children and youth
- Reforming and implementing mental health strategies
- Providing communications and technological equity
APC Secretariat works in association with INAC (Indian and Northern Affairs Canada), First Nations, and CMHC (Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation) on housing policy and program delivery. Our efforts are being focused on improving the quality levels of housing and enhance First Nation capacity and control over housing and infrastructure.
